Human Rights Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Our Commitment

Collective Intelligence is committed to respecting and upholding internationally recognised human rights in all aspects of our operations. We acknowledge the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights as the authoritative global standard and use it as the framework for our approach.

As an AI strategy and systems firm, we are particularly mindful that the technologies we advise on, build, and deploy have the potential to affect human rights — including privacy, freedom of expression, non-discrimination, and the right to work. We take this responsibility seriously and embed human rights considerations into our advisory and delivery work.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and partners acting on behalf of Collective Intelligence. It covers our internal operations, our supply chain relationships, and the advice and solutions we provide to clients.

Where our work involves recommending or deploying AI systems that could affect individuals — through automated decision-making, data processing, or workforce transformation — we assess and advise on the human rights implications as part of our standard practice.

Our Approach to AI and Human Rights

We believe responsible AI deployment requires proactive attention to the rights of individuals affected by automated systems. In our client work, we advocate for transparency in algorithmic decision-making, meaningful human oversight, and processes for individuals to understand and contest decisions made about them.

We do not engage with projects that we believe are designed to surveil, profile, or suppress individuals based on protected characteristics, or that would otherwise constitute a clear violation of fundamental human rights. We conduct due diligence on prospective engagements with this in mind.

Where our work involves workforce transformation through AI — including automation of roles — we advise clients to manage these transitions with fairness, transparency, and adequate support for affected employees.

Supply Chain and Partners

We expect our suppliers, technology partners, and contractors to uphold equivalent standards. We include human rights expectations in our supplier relationships and take material violations seriously.

We acknowledge that, as a professional services firm with a small direct supply chain, the most significant human rights risks we face are associated with the broader technology ecosystem — including the hardware and infrastructure providers whose products underpin AI systems. We engage with industry efforts to improve standards in this area.

Grievance and Accountability

We are committed to providing accessible means for individuals who believe their rights have been adversely affected by our operations or client work to raise concerns. Concerns may be raised in confidence by contacting hello@collectiveintelligence.co.

This policy is reviewed annually by our leadership team. We will update it as our understanding of human rights risks in the AI sector develops and as our commitments evolve.
